At present, the price of different types of monocrystalline silicon wafers has increased by more than 50% compared with the beginning of the year; the price of solar cells has increased by 10% to 20% compared with the beginning of the year. In a company that produces photovoltaic modules in Dongying, Shandong, the person in charge said that the rise in the price of silicon materials has directly driven up the price of solar cells. It is understood that before this round of price increases, silicon material prices were relatively sluggish. Data show that my country's polysilicon production in the first half of this year was 227,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.7%. In the same period, the growth rates of my country's silicon wafers, solar cells, and photovoltaic modules all exceeded 30%. Industry insiders analyze that at present, a number of domestic leading companies on the upstream silicon material end are actively deploying and expanding production. In the next period of time, with the gradual release of production capacity, the price of silicon materials is expected to return rationally.

It is understood that, as the upstream raw material of the photovoltaic industry, the price of silicon materials has risen from around 80,000 yuan per ton to more than 200,000 yuan per ton this year, an increase of 150%.
